Favorite Verse and Quote:
"For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21
"I have not yet been able to stereotype my theological views, and have ceased to expect ever
to do so. The idea is preposterous. None but an omniscient mind can continue to maintain a
precise identity of view and opinions. Finite minds, unless they are asleep or stultified by
prejudice, must advance in knowledge. The discovery of new truth will modify old views and
opinions, and there is perhaps no end to this process with finite minds." - Charles Finney, The
Word of Truth
Testimony:
Known by my friends and family as an extreme dispensationalist, one of the greatest lessons
in my life has been the ministry of diplomacy. On an average, anyone who holds an extreme
view of truth (such as myself) tends to have a skewed outlook on everyone else instead of a
balanced hope to encourage others in their own individual search for truth. I grew up in a
Methodist/Wesleyan/Nazarene home where Arminian philosophies were taught strongly, but
not foundationally. For several years after leaving my "home churches," I discovered
alternative extremes in churches that taught Calvinistic concepts. Neither ever managed to
hold my attention as solid enough to be absolute, but the Lord led me into the home of Kevin
Drew in the fall of 1997 and it was here that my greatest challenges in faith were tested. We
began a two-year Bible Study through the pages of Scripture and I eventually went off to
study alone for three years in addition. In seclusion of study, my perspectives were shaped,
but not balanced.
It wasn't until I met the beautiful woman who became my wife that the things I was coming to
understand found a level stability. She shares my heart and strengthens my compassion on a
daily basis. In all ministries I serve, it is consistently my hope that those who hear or read my
words will be encouraged, inspired, and eager to open up their Bibles to sharpen their
knowledge of truth. To me, anything less than leading someone to the Word of God is just not
enough. No one should ever view "truth" through my eyes, but through His. The moment that
they're opening the Scriptures, I believe that I've served His Righteousness faithfully.
