I'm also quite fond of just about any words that come out of the mouth of Jon
Foreman (lead singer of Switchfoot.) And while we're at it, I'm a big fan of
John Milton's work. And J.R.R. Tolkien. And C.S. Lewis. Okay I'll stop now.
Testimony:
You know, it's interesting. I've been raised a devout Christian, and I've always
gone to church every Sunday, prayed with my family, recieved the sacraments, etc.
But I think my true spiritual confirmation didn't come until about a month ago. I
had been saved before that, of course. But my faith has just always been something
I've known, and it took a while for me to realize that faith isn't always just
about knowing, it's about embracing the Holy Spirit, and finding your identity
through God's own presence within you. As Saint Augustine said, "What place is
there in me to which my God can come, what place that can receive the God who made
heaven and earth? Does this then mean, O Lord my God, that there is in me something
fit to contain you?" What an amazing thought, indeed: that the Creator of heaven
and earth can also find a dwelling place within the soul of each and every one of us.
What Makes Me Smile:
My Saviour, my family, Switchfoot, ice cream, poetry, Lord of the Rings, music,
purevolume.com, livejournal (mostly just because of all the friends I've made there),
a blank sheet of notebook paper, that same blank sheet of notebook paper when I've
filled it with a brainstorm of ideas.
