Testimony:
I grew up in a Christian home, but going to Church never meant anything special
to me. It was just something we did. My mother had been raised in a Jewish family,
so she eventually stopped going to Church with my dad, brother and I. So then I
started feeling forced that I had to go. Why did I have to go if my mom didn't?
Right before I went into highschool, my family moved and my parents took over the
managment of a bed and breakfast business. We stopped going to Church because they
just didn't have time. I was releived. As high school slowly progressed, I began
growing closer to God and accepting Christian beleifs for my own through
interactions with Christians in online message boards (haha, oddly enough). I guess
you can say I was sort of at the "peak" of my faith during my senior year in high
school. Living a Christian lifestyle and following God was the most important thing
in my life. Things have changed a bit since I started college. I at first thought
maybe the start to my downfall was in joining the fire department (those boys can
be rough), but I was with them all summer and was still a hardcore Christian when I
moved off to start freshman year at college. Now two months into school, I know I am
not as close to God as I was. I know I haven't lost him, but several things have
come in between us and I guess you can say my faith has been falling further down on
my priorities list. Freshman year of college is the one time in your life where a
person's beliefs will change more than they ever will just because you are exposed
to so many other people and other beliefs. So, I'm still trying to get things
figured out.
What Makes Me Smile:
Looking back on these last few months of my life and realizing everything has been
absolutely perfect. There have been the hard times of course, but it has all totally
changed my life.
